Como Cup 2000

I saw a lot of gymnasts i never saw before. At last i saw Privalova who remember me on Natalia Laschenova. Very poverfull gymnast did a double layout in her first floorpasse. The Russiangirls wore this elegant leotard white with green on the shoulder. Ksenia Bogdanova had a bad day with two falls on beam, but she represents the gymnastics i love so much, her floor grace and beauty totally. But i saw lack of difficulty and we can forget to see her in a Euro or Worlds Team i think (hopefully i'm wrong!!!).

I saw Holly Vise and Lindsay first time also and i just can say, oh good form and bodylines, Hollys beammount a dream to each photographer! She did a tucked full on beam but fell in warm up and the competition. But very promising girls !!

Katja Abel (daughter of Irene Abel 1972 Olympian) has recovered well from her back injury, but she is not at this level back she was at Junior Europeans 1998 in my view.
The other German gymnast Grit Hoffmann did a very original beammount: jump to immediate split sit

I didnt saw a lot of the australians (dark viola leotard), nice choreography on floor but viewable not the highest start values.

After Junior Europeans i wasn't surprised with the winning of Gabriela Wammes. More about the winning of the Argentinian girls, was nice to see her joy!

This are some of my personal impressions. It was a very friendly and good mood and is it worth of a visit this Como Cup!

DTB - Cup, Stuttgart
Grand Prix and World Cup
26 - 28th november 1999

Elena Produnova competed the Roche in the Winners Final on vault. Trudy McIntosh had a fall after a very good first vault. Definitively Elena Zamolodchikova is a big favorite for Europeans and Olympictitle now.

An influenza prevented Olga Teslenko to start on the beam, Lisa Mason was the alternate who had some wobbles but competed a full in. Impressing also Trudy McIntosh with a powerful and difficult beamset. Spains Laura Martinez has big potential but has to work for better control her nerves.

On floor Lisa Brüggemann was the surprise with a third ranking, her floorset has innovative choreography. Sara Moro enjoyed the crowd also but had a fall on her middle pass. Svetlana Khorkina and Victoria Karpenko tied for first place. Interesting in this Winners Final witness for how different floorroutines can be.
